But ran into a problem INCLUDE '($FDVDEF)/LIST' ........................^ %F90-E-ERROR, Cannot open include file '($FDVDEF)/LIST' This works with previous compiler 8.0. This is a FMS include file which is in sys$library. Anything you can think of to fix it ? or maybe I should call HP. But like the people in the video, I was under estimating the effects of economic growth. Since it now appears that there will be an exponential growth in CO2 emissions (proportional to the growth of the world economy) I now see that the global warming problem is even more dangerous than I originally thought. Add to this the fact that green houses gases will remain in the atmosphere long after we run out of fossil fuels, then we cannot allow the free market system to consume all the remaining reserves. ### As I now (poorly) understand carbon taxes, I can see that this mechanism may "also" be used to recover lost North American jobs. For example, everyone knows that a considerable amount of high labor manufacturing is now done in China + India. (it may not be the kind of work that either of us would want but somebody might want it). Now if a carbon tax was levied on the energy consumed by industries producing these products, as well as the fuels used to ship this cargo back here for consumption, the resulting retail price may be too high. This could return jobs to our shores. Just food for thought.
