Everywhere: show system /process = configure If it's not running, you may see problems like this. A search through comp.os.vms for something like: one-way MSCP disk serving should find a previous discussion. In my case, the problem was a quirk in the way things were done (or _not_) when I set STARTUP$AUTOCONFIGURE_ALL == 0 in SYS$MANAGER:SYCONFIG.COM. If, by chance, you've done that, there are other steps which must be taken to do manually some other tasks which that change unexpectedly prevents from happening (such as starting the CONFIGURE process). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steven M. Probably, but the announcement is one of the most thoughtfull things i've heard from hp for ages. Not so much what's been done, but in attitude. I wonder if they could be persuaded to make the whole of Tru64 open source, so we can have a decent os to run on Alpha :-), plus possible ports to other architectures ?. Tru64 was one of the most modern unices around and could be developed considerably by the open source community, in much the same way as Solaris has been recently... Not so much what's been done, but in attitude. Question here: Does the DEC Unix file system still have an edge over other modern Unixes ? To put it more bluntly: Is HP releasing legacy software to open source, or does its file system still have competitive advantages ? If DEC Unix' file system still has a big edge over others Unixes, it makes this an interesting move since HP is giving away a technology that would be better than its own HP-UX. Any thoughts on whether this would mke it to mainstream Linux distributions ? Or would it remain a rarely used add-on file system without wide distribution ? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2008 15:09:44 -0400 From: JF Mezei Subject: Re: TTA0 port Message-ID: <4863e981$0$8492$c3e8da3@news.astraweb.com> You can test various speeds until you find the one that works: SET HOST/DTE TTA0: Press the Null character (CTRL-2 usually). It gets you to the DTE> prompt. SET DTE /SPEED=xxxx EXIT returns you to the connection at the new speed. Press return to see if it works. From the DTE> prompt you can change many parameters. There is help available at that level. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2008 18:15:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Sue Subject: VMS Update going out on Tuesday Message-ID: <965a9960-5ee5-4352-9461-b1f00ecc92b7@m45g2000hsb.googlegroups.com> Dear Newsgroup, I am planning on doing a VMS update next week, if you have anything you would like me to send out please send it along as soon as possible.
