It does not work in VMS V5.0 and there is no workaround. > Can anyone suggest any alternate means to set mail forwarding to more than one > address? (Note that setting forwarding to "@dist-list" does not work.) We also use the V4.x "feature" to forward to a list of people. Since I knew beforehand that this would break in V5, I undertook to write a foreign protocol handler for VMS mail. This allows addresses of the format: DISTRIBUTOR%"name,name,name..." to be used, especially with SET FORWARD. My foreign protocol handler then uses Mail-11 to talk to the MAIL DECnet object to handle delivery to the individual names in the DISTRIBUTOR list. This is working well under VMS V4.x - however, I have not yet tested this under VMS V5 (but have hopes that it will work). [Thanks to nodes and code distributed on Info-VAX from Kevin Carosso and Bertrand Buclin, I was able to make this work after about 4 days.] If you are interested in a copy of my code, please send me MAIL. I can send copies of the sources (MACRO and C) via VMS_SHARE or savesets via Bitnet but do not have Internet FTP access available. = Frank J.
