They're certainly useful, but as usual, the documentation has some problems. Here's what i've found by a combination of experimenting and calling DEC. Hope it's useful to someone... to enable live icons, you not only have to define uis$vt_enable_live_icons, but you also have to set your terminal type to /nosixel/noregis before shrinking it to an icon. (my interpretation of the manual was that you could get it to work on /sixel/regis terminal windows, but the graphics wouldn't appear in the live icon and wouldn't be saved when you expanded it.) as far as i can tell, you can freely set the terminal to /sixel /regis once expanded and use it fine, just set it back before you shrink it. the logical uis$vt_enable_cut should be uis$vt_enable_copy instead. when you install VWS 3.3, it changes the parameter PQL_MPGFLQUOTA such that DECNet will no longer work on monochrome vaxstations. (REMACP dies right after rttload.com starts it.) The fix is to change the line in rttload.com that looks at the value of PQL_MPGFLQUOTA to PQL_DPGFLQUOTA instead. (this is from DEC in colorado, so i guess that makes it an "official" change :-) good luck and have fun! -michael j zehr
