If you want to run the new version of TPU/EVE (for testing, or whatever) but you don't really want to upgrade to VMS 5.0, you can grab the following files from the installation tape: LIBRTL.EXE, TPU*.EXE, EVE$*.*, TPUHELP.HLB I don't recall, but I think most if not all of them were in saveset B. Anyway, put these files all in one directory with the following procedure: $ disk = f$parse(f$environment("procedure"),,,"device") $ dir = f$parse(f$environment("procedure"),,,"directory") $ define/user librtl 'disk''dir'librtl $ define/user tpu$cctshr 'disk''dir'tpu$cctshr $ define/user tpu 'disk''dir'tpu $ define/user tpumsg 'disk''dir'tpumsg $ define/user tpushr 'disk''dir'tpushr $ define/user tpusecini 'disk''dir'eve$section $ define/user eve$help 'disk''dir'eve$help $ define/user eve$keyhelp 'disk''dir'eve$keyhelp $ define/user tpuhelp 'disk''dir'tpuhelp $ define/user sys$input sys$command $ edit/tpu 'p1' You can execute this procedure and poof, you're in the new TPU. Hope this saves someone some time and effort!
