I managed to work-around the first problem. > I've been using NEWS for a couple of months now, and my users seem to be > getting along with it just fine. I'm just wondering if others have come acros s > the following little bug-lets.... > > (1) The SET PROFILE/LINE setting doesn't seems to have its proper effect in th e > next session of NEWS - it appears in the NEWSRC.; file, but doesn't have an > effect when NEWS is re-run. You can get round this one with the NEWS_INIT logical (as against NEWS_INI which is in the manual and loads key definitions). NEWS_INIT points to a file containing any news commands which can be run at startup. These can include SET LINE_EDITING which gets round the problem. > (2) The Waikato patch /FASTLOAD has a few problems (the release notes admit > this). I haven't heard anything about this one. > > I'm running ANU-NEWS V6.0-3 distributed with the Waikato patches installed. > Geoff Huston told me that he hopes to have a new release of ANU-NEWS (largely > bug-fixes rather than new functionality) out fairly early in the New Year.
