Some venders mis-implement the SCSI LUN support on their hardware, which causes problems for the SCSI self test when it attempts to tell this LUN to do something, and, since there isn't really a LUN there, it fails. Something you might want to consider is changing your system disk to address six, and setting the scsi controler to seven (>>> SET SCSI 7). This could help your problem some. Also set the tape to zero. I've had problems with some of our scanners on these machines. Right now my SCSI bus is full, my system disk is as 6 and 4 (I run host based shadowing to test it), with other disks at 5, 3, and 1. I have two scanners hooked up to 2 and 0. Another thing to consider: I believe that these machines are VERY SENSITIVE to the SCSI cable lenght of six meters. You should count your cables up and verify that you are less than six meters. Also, try NOT to run with any SCSI cables greater than two feet. To help, you can order the mouse/keyboard extension cable, (BC13M-10) to get your system box away from you table-top. Hope this helps some... .dave. -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Dave Marra | TMF Engineering + + Software Validation Suites | 37 Carlene Drive + + X Window System / Motif / VMS | Nashua, NH 03062 + +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
