Hello again! Per your comments over the past two weeks, here is a new (and hopefully more bug-free) beta release of ETHERMON V2.4. This has changed the special kernel-mode code; make sure to de-install the old ETHERMON_FASTSHR.EXE and install the new one before using the new ETHERMON. (In case you forget, ETHERMON is supposed to be bomb-proofed against such errors; it will report if there is a mismatch.) Some of the enhancements include: 1) cleaning up of the documentation, including better flagging of the need to install the shareable image. 2) accounting for an obscure "feature" (I hope!) in DECnet that caused the previous version of ETHERMON to be incompatible. 3) fixing a bug in the PING command where it would no longer work in IEEE 802.3 modes 4) correcting the "glitch" in the messages lost percentage counter in the DISPLAY commands. 5) adding support for NRC Fusion as a TCP/IP package that ETHERMON can interrogate for TCP/IP address information. (LOAD/INTERNET) 6) a new TRACE file format, and generally cleaned-up and more effective TRACE logic. Again, the BACKUP saveset is in the anonymous FTP area on gw.syr.ge.com, in file ETHERMON_V24BETA2.BCK; all of you I can remember who asked for e-mail service will receive a new e-mailing of this release. Enjoy, and let me know how this one works.
