Subj:	More on the undocumented - let'r rip!

Ok, here goes.

For those outside the U.S., I recently sent out a message offering to
document the undocumented features of VMS. I just asked for interest
the first time around, and got somewhere around 10 replies in the
first day. Well, I guess I'm doing it. Also, from now on, any posts I
make pertaining to this subject will have a distribution of WORLD.

This is THE call to all who read this newsgroup. I'm looking for
information on any VAX/VMS (I know nothing about alpha yet)
undocumented features. Please include any version dependencies or mal-
effects on the system (such as WATCHPOINT crashing the system). Please
also include info on privileges needed to use the feature (if not
COMPLETELY obvious).

If you have any code that shows an example of how to use one of these
features, please share it as well. An example would be some DCL
programs that I think I got from the net using WATCHPOINT. Well-
documented code is MUCH appreciated.

I eventually plan to compile everything people send me into one large
text file. I may make a postscript version as well, but no guarantees
at this point. I will ***NOT*** make a RUNOFF version. I haven't
decided how I'll distribute this. Does anyone have an anonymous FTP
site they'de like to offer?

Credit will be given to all authors unless they prefer to remain
anonymous.

PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS INFORMATION TO COMP.OS.VMS (or ANY newsgroup,
for that matter). The last thing we need in netdom is more info to
read in the newsgroups. Please E-MAIL all info to me at the address in
my sig. Notice that my node is not registered yet (we're working on
it!), so you may have to try a few contortions to get mail to me.
Sorry. Worst case, post a short message asking me to send mail
directly to you - maybe you can reply.

If there is specific information you need on a particular feature, ask
me as well. I'll try to put the answer in the document if someone
gives me info on it.

Unfortunately, I expect a large volume of mail from this, so I can't
respond to you individually in most cases. I would like to extend my
greatest thanks in advance to all who contribute. There are **MANY**
others who will thank you as well.

I only know of the existence of the above, I know little or none about
them so far. But, that's what this whole project is for.
