A useful url is: http://www.systems.digital.com/DIcatalog/charts/memryopt.html which gives a two tables of most extent Digital systems, their maximum memory capacity, etc., and the type of memory options they require (i.e. part numbers). My quick perusal of the table shows the MS44L-BA (yes, it _is_ a pair of MS44L-AA, but most systems need them installed in pairs) can go into any of the following: VS4000/60, MV3100/30, MV3100/40, and DECsystem 5100. There is one ambiguous entry in the table listing a MV3100 Model "8085" as accepting the MS44L-BA as well, but I think this is most likely a typo and should be read as "80/85", i.e., both models. The MS44L-BA is a pair of 4MB sims (8MB total). I do not find a _VAXserver_ 3100 listed, only 3300, 3400, 3500, 3600, 3800, and 3900. For _VAXstations_, there are _many_ 3100 models and the memory option used depends on the specific model. In any case, the memory will go in your MV3100/30, but not the /90. -Ken -- Kenneth H.
