A little bit. According to a DEC executive, EV7 will incorporate
"VLIW-like" technology, among other things. Process technology should be
in the 0.18m range.

21064 was announced in 1992, began shipping late '92
21164 was announced in 1994, began shipping in 1995
21264 was announced in 1996, will ship later this year

There are no technical barriers to the 1999 introduction of a CMOS7
Alpha. Note that a fourth-generation architecture (e.g. 21364) will be
preceded by a CMOS7 shrink of the EV6 architecture. EV67 definitely will
be available in CY99.
