Ah, and maybe I have something for the DECUS tape. Sometime in 1987 or so I wrote utility called MUM. MUM takes /MU task image and splits it into common block and conventional 11M task. Of course, the original task must be capable of running under M except for its /MU switch. Tested for example with F11ACP and EDT on RSX-11M V4.5. Allows you to run 8 large F11ACPs and about 12 EDTs on machine with 512 KB of memory w/o any checkpointing... The per-user part of EDT was smaller than EDI.
