This visit speeded up the decision process a lot: Philips will conduct a feasability study in the coming months to test a Digital workstation that will replace the SKY-array processor as the reconstructor computer. They are very confident in the results of this test and informed SKY of the fact that their relationship will end beginning 1998. This is a major breakthrough for Digital. According to the timescale this workstation will be the successor of the AlphaStation 500. Secondly, Philips decided that the Corelle server is the computer that will most likely follow up the AlphaServer 400 mid 1997. This means all goals of this visit are met and we will work this year very hard to prove the applicability of our workstation in the reconstructor area and double the amount of systems philips will purchase from Digital. We will certainly work on the driver-issue that was adressed during the second day of this visit, and we hope that we can call upon your expertise to build the right driver. Robbert will stay in contact with you on this. Thanks for your efforts and regards, Robbert and Arie
