If you upgrade the OS to "System 7.5" that includes MacTCP (much like Windows-95 includes TCP/IP but Windows 3.1 doesn't). When I was starting with IP on the Macintosh I bought a copy of the book "The Internet Starter Kit (Macintosh)". You can get a copy at most large bookstores. The price is under $30 and the included diskette contains MacTCP and several useful utilities. Once you have Netscape running you will have access to all the freeware/shareware in the world.
