    yeesh. that should be 

	DEFINE/SYSTEM OPC$OPA0_ENABLE FALSE

    in SYS$MANAGER:SYLOGICALS.COM. There should be a
    SYS$MANAGER:SYLOGICALS.TEMPLATE that documents
    all that.

    unless the vaxstation is not a cluster member, the system
    startup should not enable OPA0 as an operator console
    unless you explicitly tell it to. OPA0 should also
    be set /NOBROADCAST.

    to turn the opcom messages off immediately, without a
    system reboot:

	$DEFINE/USER SYS$COMMAND OPA0
	$REPLY/DISABLE
	$SET TERMINAL OPA0/NOBROADCAST/PERMANENT
