From: MERC::"uunet!WKUVX1.BITNET!goathunter" 27-MAR-1993 23:58:07.56 To: fsupdate@WKUVX1.BITNET CC: Subj: New FILESERV commands I just realized that I never told you about two new FILESERV commands. They are: ADDRESS Causes all output from the following commands to be redirected to another address. This was added specifically because some addresses come in as invalid RFC822 addresses. This is most frequently caused by incorrectly configured mailers that leave From: lines looking like From: user@node.dnet. So, if you send a FILESERV request and never received anything back, you might try specifying a valid address on the ADDRESS command. (The transaction log also gets mailed to that address, with the original address included for tracking purposes). QUIT The QUIT command tells FILESERV to stop processing the message. It is extremely useful to make sure that FILESERV does not try to process your signature. The following message demonstrates the use of these new commands: ADDRESS SEND GETCMD QUIT Gobbledy-gook from some signature. Blah blah blah. FILESERV would process the ADDRESS and SEND commands and ignore everything after the QUIT command.
