READVMSBACKUP is a utility which can be built on a variety of OSs (e.g. on Unix) to read VMS Backup savesets. This version knows how to skip XOR blocks so that they don't cause crashes and can be built for big-endian (e.g., HP, Sun) machines, or little-endian ones (e.g. Intel, DEC Alpha). It is quite robust and handles VMS record formats in generally the right way. It uses a table internally to give clues of how to unpack files based on file extension.
