Do I need to do anything different to get the Alpha >onto the cluster compared to a VAX? Is it possible? You won't be able to add an Alpha as a satellite unless you already have an Alpha boot node in the cluster. To run a mixed architecture cluster you have to have a VAX boot node for the VAX members of the cluster and an Alpha boot node for the Alpha members of the cluster. If the 500 5/266 is the only Alpha node then it will have to have a system disk with VMS 6.2 for Alpha installed. It can then be brought into the cluster by changing the cluster security data base (you should be able to copy the cluster security database from the VAX boot node to the Alpha boot node and then reboot the Alpha with the VOTES and EXPECTED_VOTES set properly. Also, make sure that you have the logicals for SYSUAF, LMF$LICENSE, NETPROXY, QMAN$MASTER, RIGHTSLIST, VMSMAIL_PROFILE all pointing to only one of the system disks for these data files. | | All opinions //////// /////// /////// | R.
