Although I don't understand why not printing directly from Windows,
a minimal solution for word-doc to Postscript printing could be the Antiword 
program, see my VMS port at 
 http://wwwvms.mppmu.mpg.de/~huber/pds
or the version on the VMS freeware V7. 
It contains executables for Alpha VMS 7.3-1.
