To view PS files with more than one page or often, I would highly recommend the GhostView v2.0.3 for VMS that is available. The most recent XV for VMS fixes little bugs here and there and is available from Hunter Goatley's FTP site (ftp.wku.edu in the vms/unsupported directory). I would recommend you wait a day of two before you get it from him. I am just about to send him a new copy that fixes some little problems with the new DEC C and some VAX/DECWindows combos... Don't get the archive unless the date is after 31 Jan 1996. Also, GS v3.53 does compile and run for OpenVMS DEC C, though some little changes are needed. Peter D. has logged them and they should be fixed in his next release. To enable GIF output support, you only need to pick up the GIF driver (GDEVGIF.C) from any of the old kits and edit the build script to include building GIF. It is a little clumsy, but just follow the build sections for say the PCX driver and mimic it for GIF. Note, UniSys may require a royalty payment from you if you write GIF files... Your decision. That is why Peter dropped it from GhostScript in the first place. He does not want to get involved in any lawsuits. Regards, rick -- Richard L.
