This directory contains executables for VMS/OpenVMS (both VAX and Alpha). 2193 Jun 8 1996 README What you're reading right now 126976 Sep 7 1994 gzip124x.alpha_exe gzip 1.24 AXP bare executable 54784 Sep 7 1994 gzip124x.vax_exe gzip 1.24 VAX bare executable 209616 Sep 7 1994 gzip124x.zip gzip 1.24 executables, docs, etc. 10282 Feb 26 1993 touchx.zip BSD/SysV "touch" for VMS; VAX exe/docs 65193 Feb 2 1993 zip11x.zip Zip 1.1 executables/docs; VAX only UnZip 5.2 executables (plus docs in all archives): 379848 May 1 1996 unz520x-vms-axp-exe.exe 253209 May 1 1996 unz520x-vms-vax-decc-exe.exe Zip 2.1 executables (plus docs in all archives): 228371 May 1 1996 zip21x-vms-axp-exe.zip 155696 May 1 1996 zip21x-vms-vax-decc-exe.zip The executables are in self-extracting zip format. You can use UnZip 5.x or PKUNZIP 2.04g to extract them directly without running them, as in: unzip unz520x-vms-axp-exe.exe The simplest way to extract, however, is to do "run unz520x-vms-axp-exe" to extract everything into the current directory, or set up the executable as a foreign command: define a symbol like unz520x == $disk:[dir]unz520x-vms-axp-exe.exe and then use most normal UnZip options (e.g., "unz520x -t" to test). You will have to do something similar to install the enclosed executables; be sure to read the README.VMS in the UnZip package. All Info-ZIP packages contain documentation. The sources are in the main directory, up one level.
