The VR290 and VR299 would tend to indicate GPX controllers. :My question is, will the new VRCX1-KA DEC monitors work on the :vaxstation 3100/30/40? I believe the new monitor is compatible :with the VRT-19-HA which is not being made any longer. The VRCX1 is a multi-synch, supporting resolutions from VGA up through to 1600 x 1200 at 75HZ, and it supports the BNC and synch-on-green connections necessary for the VAXstation 3100. I would expect this monitor to work on a variety of DIGITAL workstations... :I was quoted $798 exchange price on the VRCX1-KA monitor. Is there any :wisdom on the net about alternatives and their quality compared to the :DEC monitor? I would expect this VRCX1-series monitor to work, but I do not have a VAXstation 3100 series box handy to actually confirm this. (Obviously, you will want to make sure you can return it, should you encounter any problems.) I regularly use a variant of this monitor on an AlphaStation. The display is quite sharp, and I have had no problems over the few months I've been using... -------------------------- pure personal opinion --------------------------- Hoff (Stephen) Hoffman OpenVMS Engineering h*ffman@xdelta.enet.dec.c*m headers and addresses munged to avoid automated spammers: junk-e-mail
