Galaxy: Definitions * Adaptive Partitioned Multi-Processing (APMP) A new model of computing in which multiple instances of operating systems execute cooperatively in a single computer. With APMP, processors (and other physical resources) are partitioned into multiple instances of operating systems. This computing environment can be dynamically adapted to changing application needs. * Galaxy Software Architecture The complementary architecture that leverages Adaptive Partitioned Multi-Processing (APMP) capabilities. The Galaxy Architecture provides the software structure and operation components that exploit the APMP computing model.
