I've seen this (using the diagnostic 7 hack) posted several times, and indeed, it appears in a DSNlink article as one possible work around for the problem (see "After V6.2 Upgrade Queue Journal File Grows for No Reason" in the OpenVMS database). However, it seems more appropriate to refer people to the correct code which is freely available from ftp.service.digital.com as ALPQMAN040_070 and VAXQMAN03_070 for VMS versions 6.1 through 7.0 on Alpha and 5.5-2 through 7.0 in VAX. -Ken -- Kenneth H.
