DECUS Library Catalog

This directory tree contains, in machine readable form, the entire
DECUS library catalog. In addition to current material (in the top
level directory), the [.older] directory contains catalog material
which has been deleted from the DECUS library catalog. It describes
items in the DECUS library which are still available, but for which
orders have been slow enough that they have been removed from the
master catalog to keep the total distribution size down. These
descriptions go back to 1987. Items from older DECUS Library catalogs
are still also available (provided their media can still be read), but
machine readable catalog information is not available for these.

   Note please that to save space, the report files are in ZOO archive
form. Please just extract with the ZOO command:

$ ZOO e rpt

to extract all the files from rpt.zoo into the current default
directory. Files so extracted can be viewed. They can also
be concatinated directly and qndxr/brwsr run on the results.

The Browser and qndxr utilities are fulltext retrieval tools;
qndxr indexes a (stream format) text file, and browser finds
single or paired keywords quickly in it. Vax and AXP images are
provided. These can be used to build a database of DECUS library
information which can be rapidly searched.

The DECUS CIS (catalog system used by library staff) system is
here also in the [.cisdemo*] directory.
